My nephew is stationed at Kodiak Island. He is in the coast guard. Anyway, I have always wanted to visit Alaska. It's one of the few states that hasn't been completely ruined by man.
Happy WW and thank you for stopping by my place. Happy New Year.
So pretty!!! I am dyin to take my husband on a cruise up there sometime so that maybe he can catch a glimpse of an Aurora Borealis. Your picture being from Alaska, reminded me of that goal. :) Happy WW!
Anchorage is such a beautiful city. I spent quite a few overnights there (on my way to Adak for Navy work in the 90s). Most of that time spent at the Great Alaskan Bush Company (ouch ... I just had to go and mention that didn't I?)
Then, after getting married, my wife and I spent another 10 days or so in Anchorage visiting the nearby parks, flying onto a glacier on Denali, riding in a dog-pulled sled. Wonderful trip.
I envy you -- especially during the summer when you get so much daylight.
I find it a bit disturbing that this pic and your description of the snowfall made me very, very homesick. You can take the girl out of Ak, but you can't take the AK out of the girl I suppose....
