An Alaskan Thing

It seems rather pointless to wash my car with the weather we've had the past week. Talk about mud. Would you believe the inside is clean?

  1. I haven't washed my car in 12 years. My father is disturbed by that and washes it when he's up visiting. Here in Fairbanks, there's also no point to fixing a broken windshield. They just get dinged again.

  2. The Alaska thing looks as bad as the Utah thing, which would be massive build up of SALT. Bleck.

  3. When we used to go visiting my relatives in South Dakota, their cars looked like that and I used to think, "These people are pigs. They don't wash their cars." Little did I know.

    My photo is up, too.

Oh no, I hate not to have my car washed ... even if I have to bribe DH to do it for me :-)

Happy WW and thanks for sharing!

Mine is up too - ONLY IN SOUTH AFRICA

Mine looks very much the same. Michigan sludge is all over mine. ;)

  7. I was thinking the other day that I would love to wash the salt off my car, but it hasn't been above about 5 degrees all week. I have to wait until it breaks 35...does that happen in Alaska?

  8. That's one good thing about living in the South. The humidity is one bad thing!

    Happy WW!!

  9. Cars look like that here in MI too in the winter lol.

  10. Ha! I can relate to that. Our's is totally covered in salt and with below-zero high temperatures, I don't see a wash coming anytime soon!

Thanks for stopping by! And happy WW!

  11. HA HA HA! I live in MN. My hubby's truck is always clean -- he has a card for free washes through work; my truck is always gritty -- I don't have a card and I have six kids. (The inside of my truck looks worse than the outside, might I add.)

    Great photo!! :o)

My car looks a LOT like that with all the mush, snow, and salt on our roads right now. Being from the South originally, I hate it. Hey, thanks for stopping by and happy WW.

That's what cars in Ohio look like, too.

And my Wordless Wednesday is up!

  15. Good grief! We haven't had enough snow around here this year to get the cars like that! I sure hope you have plenty of wax on it. Thanks for visiting me today at My Photo Blog.

  16. We can't wash our cars till spring. It is too cold.
    Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  17. I don't miss those days at all in Maryland. That drove me crazy and I washed my car all the time.

  18. My cars used to look like that when I lived in NY. TN doesn't get that much snow, and we have red clay, so we don't get the flying dirt.

    Happy WW!

  19. I only wash my car in the Spring. With the Salt and Snow, it is useless now. Happy WW!

Looks like the Va. thing also with the massive build up of the chemicals they put on the road. I really need to clean the outside of my car. The inside is looking good!

  21. LOL! My car looks like that too! :)

  24. I haven't washed my van in over a year. It's forever a battle to keep it clean. My favorite car wash closed, sigh.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Wednesday.

  25. Yep, current Nebraska weather has everyone's car color turned to white with all the salt on the roads!

  29. I love visiting my in-laws for one reason, my FIL is a neat freak and he would wash inside and out of my van, you can actually eat off of the floor!! Unfortunately, it doesn't stay clean long.

  30. That's why my husband says you should get a white car - so it doesn't show up as much. I don't think that works though. At least you have a good reason not to wash your car though.

  31. So? I don't see what's wrong :-)

That's one trait I took with me when I moved out to California - not washing the car all winter. Appalling behavior in LA. You can take the girl out of winter; but you can't take winter mind set out of the girl.

  32. Uuugh! My car is just as diry and it gets on my light gray coat everytime I put the kids in and out of their car seats. I look like a dirty bag lady by the end of winter. I refuse to clean the coat until spring because it costs $50.00 to clean it:)

  35. I think you've got Utah beat, or at least those of us who wash our cars LOL

Thank you for your comment on my WW. The photo of the stream/river is Colorado; on the way to Echo Lake and Mount Evans, probably 2 hours west of Denver. It was raining but I had to stop and take photos. I will go back one day and spend more time there.

    Have a great day!

  36. Bummer. I agree. Why bother washing it? At least you have a good excuse.

Oh My! Is it that bad in Alaska? I have 2 nephews that live there. But don't know exactly where.

  39. I hate washing the car!

  40. He-he A winter phenomenon. Don't wash your car to often. Save energy and the environment.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well, all the other cars in town must look the same way, or else someone would have written, "Wash me," on your car!

  42. Sadly enough, my van looks worse. Until the thaw this week, I had frozen slush on the sides. The grime is thick enough to name. And I'm just praying the windshield holds on until late spring, then I'll replace it.
