You can call it a Hippeastrum if you want to but Amaryllis is the only name for a beauty like this.

ReplyDeleteHippeastrum is a strange word. Sounds like hippo. But Amaryllis... that is a pretty word. Pretty flower too.
ReplyDeleteI saw the title of the post and thought this was going to be a creative writing exercise...maybe a children's fantasy story or something. It would make a good one. But it makes a pretty nice flower, too.
