I bought this seashell as a souvenir while we were in Belize last fall and it wins the prize for Strangest Thing I've Ever Eaten. Not this exact same conch, another one. In a soup. It was rather chewy. Tasted like chicken?

Yuk! Why does everything taste like chicken. Really an unusual picture. Great job.
Great pic! It's hard to tell that close up that it's a seashell. Love the attention to detail
I have tried to like seafood, but I think I will continue to stick with my landfood.
No thanks. It's a wonderful picture, though.
Tastes like chicken, eh? I've heard THAT one before...
Tastes like chicken? I would have thought it would taste like crunchy, salty seashell! Pretty color, though!
Hmmm. Dunno about eating it, but, it's a cool picture!
pretty
Belize sounds fantastic. But I'm not sure I could do this - er - chicken;)
But maybe!
It's pretty in a way----but chewey? I don't like chewey. :)
I've had those before I don't know if I would say it tastes like chicken but definetly chewy. Also great picture.
I love shells and seafood
mines up :)
Very pretty, detailed picture, but don't think I'd eat it.
Happy WW!
Great photo! Is that the chicken of the sea? LOL
Happy WW! :-)
that's a fantastic picture. well done you!
I had read that you could eat those. Never met anyone who actually did. Ok well I guess I haven't really met you, but you know what I mean! :)
I'll remember to pass if ever offered Conch!
Yep, another great picture. I'm never disappointed when I visit. If it was chewy, did it remind you of scallops?
Have a wonderful Wednesday. Mine is up on My Photo Blog.
Bought a shell in Grenada like that. Didn't eat it though.
I like Isabelle's "chicken of the sea" comment. Beautiful pic. Belize? I'm green.
Very interesting picture. I went to Key West years and years ago when I was in college and Conch soup was popular down there. I never tried it although it sounded interesting. In the years since that trip, I learned I'm allergic to some shellfish, oysters, clams, and muscles to be specific, and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm allergic to conch as well.
Pretty shot, but blech on the idea of eating it ;) Well, the insides.
Cool picture. Doesn't everything taste like chicken?
It looks almost fluid ... and slick ... and slimy. lol
You're a BRAVE woman. There is NO way I'd put that in my mouth. But then again, I'm not a big seafood fan.
Great picture though. *grin*
It's great that you try new things. Me, I'm not so brave.
Uh, I can't see the pix. Did it dis-duh-peer?
