This answers the question, "So what did you do this week?"
I work with our church youth group and this week we had an activity where an expert in stage combat came and taught them a bit about sword fighting. With real swords. Cool? Aye matey!
Credit for the putting my video footage into a movie goes to Andrew. That Macbook of his is amazing.

My boys would totally get into that! They are always play fighting with their light sabers or whatever they can get hold of that works as a sword!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun I bet those kids had a blast I try to stay away from over sharp objects lol I tend to be a lil accident prone thanx for the comment on my blog I wish this receptionist would leave too lol
ReplyDeleteWow...we never get activities that are that cool for mutual night. I think I would have enjoyed having something like that for Enrichment...but I doubt the rest of the women at church would agree with me.
ReplyDeleteArrrgh! You lead a charmed life, indeed!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your comment at Marie's place regarding taking your children to work everyday.
I shall take your recipe to Albuquerque with me the day after tomorrow when I go to meet my first grandson. The new little family needs a bit of tender care just now and nothing says love like a healthy casserole, oui?
Have a fun day. Somehow, I know you will!
How incredibly fun! My daughter has learned from martial arts there is a huge difference between sparring in class and "hollywood" sparring. This sounds like it would be a really fun activity for our homeschool group too. Thanks for the idea :-)
ReplyDeleteWhere did they get that many real swords? I bet those kids had fun!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that everyone 'played nice!'
ReplyDeleteCheers
How cool! And does this captain have a website?
ReplyDeletehehe totally looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite soundtracks. How cool! I am assuming the building you were in is "borrowed?"
ReplyDeleteSo did Andrew get a chance to work on his swordmanship too? :)
ReplyDeleteOooo! Sword fighting is so awesome. The kids LOVED it, huh!?!
ReplyDeleteI have three boys that just might want to move to Alaska when I let them watch that! Light sabers, swords, sticks....they all lead my middle son to proclaim "watch my new move Mom". Now I honestly can't tell much difference between today's new move and the one I witnessed last week! But I smile and nod approvingly. I have decided having all boys, this is my "ballet dancing" fix.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen THAT at a church activity! Way cool!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if you'll be getting a Mac for Mother's Day as well. Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool! what a wonderful idea!
