Made with love and imagination by one of my resident cub scouts (not allowed to say which one, that would be giving too much away) and it's where he's hiding all his Bond gadgets while they're on loan from M. Or at least his Leatherman while he's as school.And the greatest security feature? I'm pretty sure no one's going to be picking up that book any time soon. I think his secrets are safe.

I need one of those. We have so many books at our house I am sure we wouldn't even be able to find our safe ourselves. My boys would love a project like this if only I could handle defacing a book. I am not sure I could endure that.

My 10 year old hies his leatherman in his safe while at school as well... except his is in a safe that he made from one of those kits from the craft store..

perhaps i'll show him this... i bet he would LOVE to make something like this!
And to think some people pay good money to "buy" one of these book safes premade from some fancy smancy catalog!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great little project and a cool hiding place. I think some of the secret keepers around here could use a bit of book carving fun this week while we are on break from school!
I hate the idea of one of *my* books meeting this fate -- but the local thrift store should have a number of good candidates at very low costs.

My son is like a squirel. He stashes his "secret" stuff all over the house. As soon as he gets a bookshelf in his room we will have to make one of those.
ReplyDeleteI remember taping paper to the back of a picture frame to make a hidden pocket. I thought I had to take extra measures to make sure my little brother didn't steal my horde of two dollars.

Oh that's so funny. Mine has recently decided he needed a container to put his "treasures" in. So we found a coffee container. You just have to love boys.
