There are Donna Hay books, magazines, dishes, etc etc. - she is mostly famous for being a food stylist. Her minimalist design when it comes to food is the big thing, as she is all about simplicity and beauty.

Delicious is also a great Australian magazine - actually for a population as small as ours there are a number of great foodie mags to enjoy.

I'd love to read some of the ones you suggested...might have to stock up when I get back to the US next year!

Memzeegee & the hungry threehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05157103839748631293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14194867.post-27026560154103159102008-11-27T19:26:00.000-09:002008-11-27T19:26:00.000-09:00I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who peeks...I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who peeks through windows to see other people's interior decorating! I, like every other woman, enjoy magazines but I try to keep them to a limit as they pile up and I can't keep up with everything.
I LOVE Delicious. It is so good. They have Christmas special out now. Yummy. And Donna Hay...there is another Aussie Deborah Hutton who I sort of think is the "Aussie" MS. I always get the two mixed up. I'd offer to do a magazine swap but I think paying the ginormous price is still cheaper than postage? It's the same for me as well. I want to get MS or other US mags occasionally but I have a hard time with the cost. And our subscription rates here are a joke. They are a small savings, really small.
I never knew about Somerset mags until I started blogging. Same with Domino. I see those all over the place. I still have yet to read them.
Seeing the Everyday sounds really lovely and I'm with you. Food & travel entwined. Take me there!
Happy Happy Thanksgiving to the entire gang.
xoall over the maphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07683876349920004494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14194867.post-88185153755187878382008-11-27T11:03:00.000-09:002008-11-27T11:03:00.000-09:00You mentioned 2 of my fav's - Delicious and Donna ...You mentioned 2 of my fav's - Delicious and Donna Hay. I once tried a Pumpkin Soup recipe that I watched Martha make on her show. It took 4-6 hours of hands on cooking(it didn't ocurr to me at the time that she had tons of prep-chefs and it was on tv and all,) and then after all the work, it was disgusting. Not that all her recipes are like that, but I'm more of a 30-minute-dinner kind of girl! Thanks for the reviews!Kathrynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16336693769412372305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14194867.post-51401978665147383522008-11-27T08:46:00.000-09:002008-11-27T08:46:00.000-09:00I am feeling so b-o-r-i-n-g. Not so much Parents now that my youngest is 13 but I still give it as a gift to all new parents. And Family Fun was essential for all the birthday parties and Girl Scout activities. Wired fascinates me because I don't get half of what I read there. ;)

Happy Thanksgivingmiriamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04319153566114723749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14194867.post-29453123207365895192008-11-27T07:30:00.001-09:002008-11-27T07:30:00.001-09:00Happy Thanksgiving! It satisfies my inner gardener. I like the first one: I could subscribe for my artist/ budding journalist daughter.
I applied for and received a grant for magazine subscriptions for my class this year. The kids LOVE them. Many of my students can't afford magazines at home, and kids' mags are expensive.
