Dad-gum Moose!

When I woke up this morning the kids were frantic--"WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR PUMPKIN!?"

Can you see the distinct hoof marks in the snow and teeth marks around what's left of our jack o' lantern? If this were Law and Order I'd have enough for a warrant.

"It appears, lieutenant, that the antler-wearing-perp dragged the vic from the porch by the head, leaving a trail of drool--DNA testing confirms a match. A comparison of dental records matches the frozen pulpy remains. I think it's enough for the D.A. Shall I bring him in?"

With everything that is wrong with Utah at least I don't have to worry about Meese, Mooses? I thought the deer were bad enough but you definately have it worse.

Good luck with that "bringing him in" part. Don't forget to get a proper search warrant because the judges on Law and Order are sticklers for that kind of thing.

That's funny! How would you handcuff/hoofcuff a moose? I'd love to see that.

That's a funny one, though probably not for the kids. Smile

Oh yeah, I remember that about Alaska...the moose. At least it waited until after Halloween, so that's a good thing...our Jack-O-Lantern was felled by a far more insidious killer...mold.

Oh too funny. And I thought worrying that your Jack-o-lantern would be smashed by maurading teenagers was a problem ...

I'm so jealous. I'd love to live in a place where creatures still roamed free. Your kids are having an amazing childhood.

Poor little jack-o-lantern. In any case, that would be pretty exciting to see in person. I'm jealous!

This is so "foreign" to me - pumpkins, snow and a MOOSE! Here a possum would have made off with it.

I saw a moose once when I was up north.
Oh, up north for me is Georgian Bay--up north to you would be quite different I suspect.

Great story. Sorry for your loss! :0
Here in Utah we mostly worry about the teenages smashing the pumpkins. In Virginia we had to worry about deer all the time - they loved eating our flowers! :)

Hope you have a happy Thanksgiving!

Just another Blogging Chick who wanted to say 'hi!'

Wow. There's one thing we don't have to worry about here.

I LOVE your blog. Always wanted to go to Alaska. Now I can! Through your blog! Thanks.
