Write-Away Contest: February

I enjoyed discovering new blogs through last month's Write-Away Contest so here it is, a new month and I'm ready to try it again.

The topic is, of course, love. However, your post could be about romance, infatuation, a mother's love, love for one's country, love for chocolate, love for a pet, love for this blog, whatever variation you'd like to explore.

Write your post--or dig through your archives and find one that fits--then email me the title and permalink at scribbit at gmail.com before Monday, February 12th. I'm not allowing as much time as before which means less time to procrastinate. Yes I know--the power must be going to my head.

In each submission include a link to this page here at Scribbit and when the winner is announced I will post a complete list with links to each entry
.

Our guest judge this month is Chilihead from Don't Try This At Home--and trust me, this woman knows all about love. She will judge the posts based on the quality of writing, applicability to the topic and ability to engage the reader. If you can make her cry I'm sure you'll get bonus points--but I warn you, she's a self-described "Love Cynic" which I hope you'll take as a challenge. But please, while you're writing about your deepest longings keep it clean. The topic is love, not . . . well, other things that shall remain nameless.

I will post the winner here on Tuesday, February 13th in time for Valentine's Day.

The prize is a selection of Alaskan chocolates from Alaska Wild Berry Products in Anchorage--my kids love to visit the chocolate waterfall they have on display there à la Willie Wonka.

But wait! There's more! As before, in addition to being declared the Most Glorious Write-Away Winner I have here this stylish button you may take home should you choose to flaunt your good fortune to the blogosphere. Good luck and good writing!

This contest is also posted at competizione.

OOh. I'm scared. I've never turned anything in to be judges before. I'll have to think about this. That might be a little too much pressure for me. I'll be checking in to see who wins though!!

Looking forward to reading the entries. Have I mentioned that I love chocolates. Never tried Alaska Wild Berry Products, though.

Hmm - I found out about this through Strauss at The Brave and thought it looked interesting. I will do my best - I tend to do better at "not love" stuff!

I have two posts that I really like about love and our family. I guess if I can only enter one, it'll be this one:

http://thewoodenporch.blogspot.com/
2007/02/i-cant-wait-for-you-to-
have-children-of.html

However, if you want to read about laying down your life for your brother, then read this one. It's a day that changed our entire extended family forever, and it just might make crazy Chili cry.

Nothing like waiting until the very last minute, eh?

Just waiting for inspiration, I guess.
