The Paper Princess and A Saturday Giveaway

Matchbooklets at the Paper PrincessRemember back to the time before we had emails and electronic communications how exciting it was to receive a hand-written note or card? Well The Paper Princess is a company that specializes in vintage-inspired paper goods to make you remember why getting a personal, scripted note is such a great thing.

Wooden Pens at the Paper PrincessNote cards, gift tags, book plates, stationery, greeting cards and (my personal favorite) calling cards are all here with geometric, retro designs that put style into your letters and communications. Do people still use calling cards? They should. It's like carrying a real handkerchief with lace edging, a thing from the past that seems so sophisticated and genteel that it's a shame it's been forgotten. I've been meaning to look into getting some business cards printed with my URL on it anyway but these would be perfect.

Wooden Pens at the Paper PrincessDon't think that's all they carry, the first products I saw were their lovely wooden pens and pencils that come in bright beautiful colors and designs that couldn't be cuter, and they have rubber stamps, specialty twine and illustrated matchbooklets so sweet you'd want to save them rather than use them up.

As an extra bonus, Leslie Saito, the brains and style behind The Paper Princess, has generously offered Scribbit readers a 20% discount on their orders through June 16th. Simply enter SCRIBBIT in the coupon code at checkout and enjoy!

So before you go rushing off to check out the wares, let me tell you about this week's Saturday Giveaway (and I've had to pry these items from Grace's fingers, she wants them so badly herself):

Here's what this week's prize includes:

* 3 retro wooden pens: a lion, a flower and a truck
* 1 set of 10 pink note cards with matching envelopes pictured here
* 1 set of 8 stationery pieces with matching envelopes picture here

Here's how to win:

Before 12 am Monday June 11th go to the giveaway entry form on this page and enter your name and email. I will pick one of the names at random, contact the winner via their email and publish the winner's first name in my regular Tuesday post.

Important things to note:

Because of the cost of international shipping I'm sorry but this Saturday Giveaway will be open only to readers in the U.S. I am planning on offering some future giveaways to international readers when I have prizes that are lighter to ship such as jewelry or other small items. They're coming, please hang in there.

As long as you enter before 12 am Monday morning according to your own time zone I'll count it. Alaska falls near the end of the day so I'll catch all the entries anyway.

I've designed the entry form so that anyone can enter. Reader, writer, blogger, friend, foe, anyone with an email and a United States address is eligible. The entry form is entirely private, it will send me whatever name you choose to enter and your email so that I have a list of entrants and can easily contact the winner to learn where to send their prize. I will not publish anyone's email or full name and will throw all entries out once each week's drawing is over. Anonymity is guaranteed. The most anyone will ever see is "Paris from Sing Sing, New York" is this week's Saturday Giveaway winner" when I post the results on Tuesday.

The winner will be drawn completely at random but only one entry per viewer please.

Stationery in all it's many forms is a delight - if someone has a theory about what the exact nature of the lure is, I'd love to know.
Cheers

mcewen - for me it's the promise of a fresh start, a new notebook is like a blank canvas is to an artist or a brand new blog theme to a blogger.

A chance to make resolutions, write about new ideas. Of course with a new notebook you need a new pen and so on... :)

Thanks for this site. This is right up my alley. I love anything related to "writing" and nothing will ever replace a handwritten letter, note, card, etc.
I've cherished all my writing doo-dads since I was a young girl and still treasure these fine young goodies.
