Voila! French Beret!

So Michelle--did you get anything done today?

Why yes I did! And you know what? That French Beret isn't as black as it looked on the chip. I think I kind of like it!

Pay no attention to the front door, porch and front face over the garage, we didn't paint anything that was going to be replaced though our neighbors don't know that. We're just going to tell them that we ran out of money for paint.

It looks great! I love the contrast against the green of your yard.

Looks fabulous! I guess the designer knew what he was talking about.

The colors great - but not as great as telling the neighbors you ran out of money :)

Love it! Might paint my shed in the same shade :) I'm inspired, if you can do a whole house I'm sure I can manage a measly shed

I love it!!! I am disappointed that you aren't going to be able to do the whole black house/blood red trim/Addams Family thing, but telling the neighbors you ran out of money is nearly as good.

I'm surprised at just how lovely the black paint looks. Great job!

Happy WW! Your yard is truly wonderful...

I invite you and your blog readers to see a visual reminder of how far America has come in the past 389 years on my WW-post this week (smile)!

Hey! That's actually pretty cool! It's much lighter than I expected, and I think it looks more gray than black.

Cuz straight up black would look really Addams Family-esque.

Way to go!

Tres bien!

What a hoot....poor neighbors. Now they will be lying in bed at night, thinking about how to resolve your dilemma!!! hahaha...

Happy WW!

I'm glad you like it! Is DH as pleased as he expected to be?

You're those dark, brooding, ominous kind of neighbors, aren't you? Well, now it's confirmed.

Ooh la la! I love it!

It looks like the underside of a smoking cab-driver's hat. French cab-driver, of course.

It says, I'm classy and well-traveled, and I don't care what you think about my fashion sense.

And I mean that in the best way, of course. It doesn't look black at all.

Yes, It does look good!

Now... as far as I am concerned, French berets are typically black.. so... why on earth would they name the paint that!?!

Good job!

That's my house! though we painted the trim a lighter color. :) & it has shades now and the door needs to be replaced still... Definitely a fixer-upper, but we LOVE having a dark house!

You've earned bragging rights finishing a project like that so fast! I think the color looks great, too!

I like it a lot! It looks like a deep lilac, and purple is my favorite color.
I'm staggered, though - Andrew painted the WHOLE HOUSE IN A WEEKEND? Can he come visit us? I have a feeling we could finish the house in a couple of hours if he were here.

I love it! My house is brick, but if it wasn't I would be considering French Beret!

Now I have to admit that I was a little nervous when you described it as "black" but this looks fantastic! Great job. Now I can't wait to see what the new addition looks like.

great colour!! although I didn't see it before.

You know, I did think it was going to look very 'Addams Family-esque'. But, I must say, it looks really classy... and cool.
Set off beautifully by the green grass...lovely.
Can I move in and watch the neighbors' jaws drop when you tell them you ran out of money?!?! Please?

Love it - it's very stately looking. We just put in a contract for a house yesterday that has purple trim - got any suggestions?

Who would have thought that French Beret could look so fabulous? Very nice! I'm partial to dark colors anyway, so I really like it.

yes, yes, it looks great! I tried to visualize it and even with the help of the photoshopped photo I still couldn't visualize it, but yes, I think it looks great!

Looks great! I don't think I could ever tackle such a big project. You're my hero!

P.S. I have a July birthday as well. When did it stop being "hooray, it's my birthday!!" and become "oh dear, another birthday"??

Wish I had Blogher on my July agenda as well. :)

It has a nice sheen to it, I bet it will reflect snow quite a bit and look much lighter in winter. Very cool, I'm so glad you did it! Sounds like the kids had fun too, I *love* painting and the fresh new feeling it leaves you with.
