Think You Had a Bad Day?

Andrew was in Barrow, Alaska last week on business and came across these photos. I hate to say it but it doesn't exactly inspire me to join him on one of his trips any time soon.

Ugh. Those creatures will eat anything--including photographers apparently.

And last week I left out mentioning any of the week's kind commentors because I had such a long list of links for the Write-Away Contest I thought they'd just get lost but I'm back this week with thanks to the following people who seem to always be there with a nice thing to say.

Hope you all had a wonderful week and thanks for your visits this week!

* Robin at Around the Island. Life in Tel Aviv never seemed so close as when I'm reading her blog.
* Patois at Whee! All the Way Home. Just check out her trip to the Grand Canyon . . .
* Angie at Seven Clown Circus. I was just telling someone how I'd love to meet her in real life because she seems so nice.
* Wherever Ewe Go There Ewe Are. An American in the UK--wish I could go for a visit!
* Tammy's Times. I just think she's the greatest--plus she loves knitting!

Wow, that looks pretty intimidating! Why would he get out of the truck in the first place?

Wow. Definitely cool to see in pictures, wouldn't want to live it, though.

Yikes! Those guys look remarkably calm just sneaking around the truck like that, I'd be screaming my head off (which I'm sure sounds exactly like "please eat me" in polar bear language!).

Thanks for the very kind mention, I feel the same way about Alaska reading your blog :).

Maybe I don't want to visit Alaska... :) Just kidding, we'd love to come up there sometime for a visit, my hubby would be wanting to hunt those white guys brown brothers... scary thoughts!

OH MY ... gives me chicken skin!

Oh that just cracks me up, makes me miss Alaska. I'm sure they didn't think it was very funny at the time though.

So who was taking the pictures?

How scary! I'm so glad we don't have polar bears around here. I've heard that our variety of bears (brown) won't come after you unless you threaten their babies. A couple years ago one was roaming around our area and spotted a few miles from our house.

I'm pretty sure I'd want to sit down and cry if that happened to me. :)

Thank you so much for mentioning me this week! What a compliment as I'd LOVE to meet you as well. :)

I found Robin through you, and really enjoy "seeing" Tel Aviv through her eyes.

Patty--not sure, presumably this guy had a "friend" who took the pics. Though I wonder if their relationship survived :) If my friend stood there taking pictures instead of yelling for help I don't know that I'd welcome them with a big fat hug afterwards :)

OOps, I mean Susan, sorry--I didn't address that properly.

I don't see any photos just a black rectangle. I've tried 3 browsers.

Yikes! That would be so scary!!!!

Thank you for the link love! :-)

You have a great blog! I will be back often.

Are you trying to give me a heart attack? I had to read your post again to make sure that wasn't your husband. Please tell me he just found (snapped?) those photos--he wasn't IN them!

That was a Cheechako suffering from Disney Bear Syndrome, right?!

Yikes! I think I'll pass on the Alaska trip!

See? This is why I love your blog. One post is about giveaways, another about the worst gifts and then there is this one - polar bears. Where else could you go and watch grown men playing "catch me if you can" with a bear?
Thanks!!

Am I really bad for rooting for the polar bear? I guess I am.

(Thanks for the mention. Are you going to take it away now that I admitted hoping the bear won the game of tag?)

ACK! Those pictures scared me!

Oh my! That would scare the bejeebies outta me. YIKES!

LOL. When you access my daughter's online junior high page you will see warnings about cougars. I thought it was some kind of joke (they are Cougars, right?) but NO......there were sightings and it warns us all of what to do and to not travel alone. Um, okay.....

Okay, I'll quit complaining about the snow! AT least our bears are the friendlier black ones and they hibernate!

There's an adventure for you. I thought polar bears were generally bigger than that.
