I know this isn't exactly a new year's resolution kind of food but don't worry, just book mark it for next fall when you're in need of a FABULOUS bread recipe that'll knock your socks off.
The rolls have an interesting flavor and are always soft and tender--and you guessed it, I make them with dough cycle in my bread machine.
Bread:
2/3 cup water
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon anise seeds
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
Filing:
4 ounces crumbled feta
4 ounces grated mozzarella
1 egg
To make the dough put all of the bread ingredients into your bread machine and set to "dough" cycle. When it's ready mix the three ingredients for the filling and set aside. Divide the dough into two equal halves and roll each out into a circle big enough to cut eight triangle shaped wedges (pizza style). Put a spoonful of filling in the middle of each wedge then roll the dough up from the wide end to the point.
If desired you can brush the rolls with an egg wash that you make from 1 beaten egg and a tablespoon of milk before sprinkling with more sesame seeds but usually I'm too lazy to finish that part off and I just bake them for 15 minutes at 350 degrees or until they're golden brown. Best served warm.

Yet another recipe, I'm going to have to try. Although I'm not too sure that the cake one I tried turned out, It didn't look as good as the picture.lol Still tasty though. Was it supposed to have more of a cream cheese taste to it though?
OMW. Seriously? You are taunting me with bread? And yummy bread at that? Carbs be damned, I think I'll make these today. ;)
These sound delicious. I love feta cheese, but I rarely stock it at home. It's a rare treat instead. I think I'll have to get some for this recipe!
We don't care about new year's res. just give us the food! This really looks good. I'll have Stephanie make ASAP. Did that sound as sexist as it read? I don't think I meant it sexist...
Don't these sound yummy? My husband would love them...I guess I should give them a try :)
Any suggestions for those who don't have a bread machine?
Thanks!
This looks so good. I am going to make it. I love seeds and this is loaded with them. Did I mention that I am a bread addict? Maybe I should say carb addict. I don't want a cake for my birthday, I want a huge round sourdough loaf with cheese instead of candles. I know, my addiction is bad.
Those look sooooo yummy! You always have the best recipes!!
