Ah, spring break.
We're half way through and things are going pretty good. Grace talked me into catching Twilight with her at the cheap movies yesterday in a theater that's apparently trying to save money by eliminating the heating bill. Talk about your cold movie. I was ready to turn vampire myself after being kept subzero for two hours.
But on a perkier note, Lily and I made these little springy treats and though they were supposed to be bunnies somehow they remind me of creatures from Winnie the Pooh.
She had fun painting the beads and threading them onto the pipe cleaners. I did the twisting but she did the rest--with the popsicle sticks they make fun little puppets.
Oh, and a tip for painting the beads? Thread them onto an extra pipe cleaner while you paint and dry them, it keeps the beads off the ground and easy to paint without getting paint all over your hands. Or your kitchen.

Very cute!
So cute. Julianna would love to make these.
I'm finally on the list for reading Twilight. :)
The craft is very cute - you always have some lovely ideas.
Another craft I'm going to have to steal from you. Awesome. Thanks.
There is something wrong about Spring Break being so early in Alaska...I think its bad enough that its at the end of March in MN. Its not like its "spring" yet. In fact, its 2 degrees here this morning.
I am SO over winter!
Michelle - these are very cute - I love them!
That's a great idea - so cute!
I'm surprised you didn't put some glitter on the creatures after watching Twilight...to make them glow and glisten just like Edward!
I hope you have read Twilight. As I read somewhere, probably on Facebook, do not judge a book by its movie!!
The bunnies are soooo cute. My girls will love doing them. Thanks for sharing!
They do look like Piglets... :) Still very cute.
What a great idea, hope you are having fun on spring break! It's fun having all the kids home...most of the time! :)
Okay you didn't say what you thought of Twilight! And I too have been in a theater where it is freezing...hard to enjoy the movie! My sis said the last place they lived people brought blankets in with them while watching a movie...hmmm, just thought of this, she lived in Anchorage last! maybe same place?
What a cute craft! Gremlin would enjoy doing it, but I'd have to switch to another color because, "Duh mom, pink is for girls." ::shaking head::
fun idea..we hope to hop to it!
How cute! I think my boys would like doing this too! Great idea to hold the wood circles using the pipe cleaner to paint more easily.
Crafts are going to fill up a lot of our time during Spring Break! A good one to add to the list!
Hi, would you mind sharing where you bought the beads from ??? thanx looks like a great spring break project for us.
Oh, Michelle! I HAD to comment...it's late (after 2am) and I read your title as "Dead Bunnies for Spring Crafts"...I was really curious and when I clicked over I realized my mistake! lol
How cute. My kids would love doing this. But, how come it reminds me of Easter Peeps?!
Too bad the movie theater was so cold, it's a great movie, but maybe a little too realistic on the environmental front. ;)
I got the beads at Walmart or Michaels, they're a pretty standard craft store item you should be able to find almost anywhere.
What a super cute idea! They look a tad like Piglet.
