Yup, I'm pretty sure it's a frog and actually I find this little guy strangely appealing. In a mutant-amphibious-gapingly-terrifying way. And I can guarantee it's one in a million--no other mom got one of these guys.
He's sitting on my kitchen counter staring at me as I do the dishes, waiting to receive an sos sponge into his open jaws.

Congratulations to Stacy of Peachtree City, Georgia who walked away with the three-Lego pirate package from this weekend.

I had one of those once, but not like that. Mine was lime green. They are really quite popular.

to see what mine looked like.
There's nothing like a handmade gift.
It's um... WOW! I have always wanted one of those! ;]
LOL! I love handmade gifts from the kids. This year Jacob and my FIL made a bird feeder for me, and my husband framed one of Hannah's drawings (my avatar pic) for my office. Love them both!
I really like that frog. ;-)
That's cute. My first thought was "why did they give her a hollowed-out watermelon for Christmas?"
Then I took a second look. Oh, YEAH! A FROG! Silly me.
Enjoy it! (*ribbit*)
I pegged it for a sponge holder before I read the text. I love it!
Those are my absolute favorite gifts! :)
A sponge holder! Ah ha! So glad you told me that or I would have thought your kid gave you half a brain for Christmas. :)
I got my hubby home from having bypass surgery. 5 of them!!! It was a wonderful gift!!! J
That is a cute gift...it would grow on my too.
My mother-in-law kindly regifted (to me) the turtle sponge holder my husband made for her in grade 3. It is on our counter now. That was a very crafty way for her to get rid of it. I, of course, don't want to hurt his feelings and have been trying to figure out how I will get rid of it for the last 7 years. I fear it is here forever.
How fun is that?! Enjoy.
Have a very Happy New Year!!
Michelle,
What a treasure and completely unique! I love it! Which one of the kids made this?
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
David, my ten year-old, made it.
I'm glad your husband is home J, what a gift for sure. You never appreciate health as you should until it's threatened, right?
And alotalot, what a wonderful thought!
Love it.
Did you have to pretend you knew what it was, or were you confident enough to say it?
I love it when the kids make homemade gifts at school and they are a total surprise. I can remember the pringle can candle with holly around it one of my sons made. He was so proud of it and I still put it out every year! (over 10 years now)
A classic gift, with a lot of character.
Congrats to Stacy! I live in Sharpsburg GA. So cool to know someone so close by keeps up with the same blog as I. Small world!

He's pretty creative...I love stuff that's so-ugly-it's-cute :)
I've seen these before. I think my Grandma used to have one in her kitchen! :) Cute.
Funny, I got one too. But don't worry, they're still definitely one in a million. Mine has a baby frog in it's gaping mouth and a fly on it's tongue. Our kids' art teachers must be friends.
He's green, so he's not a toad. Toads are brown. :)
THAT? Is a fantastic gift. I would love something like that. I'm guessing I'll get something like that in the future.
Homemade gifts are wonderful--and that guy is mesmerizing.
Original ceramic frog there. Strange but cute.
Happy almost-New Years!
What a cutie!
i really like it...i'm all about gift versatility and practicality. cute.
Awww. I love it!
