Notice Anything?

So what do you think? It's a different look--I figured after nearly two and a half years it was time for a bit of a face lift.

Special credits go first to Cynthia at NW Designs for putting it all together. She was extremely patient with me as I completely messed up on things like centering and justification and probably deserves a medal.

And further credit goes to Randa Clay who designed the logo for me. I've worked with her before and love her designs. If you go to her portfolio page you'll see my beloved Quillish logo for quillish.com that I've had big plans for but never been able to use. Isn't it a great name and a great logo? Love that orange.

Anyway, if you'd like a button here's what it looks like:

And here's the code:

<a href='http://scribbit.blogspot.com'><img alt='Scribbit' class='alignnone size-full' height='111' src='http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/amitton/screenshot_02-1.jpg' title='Scribbit' width='150'/></a>

It goes with anything and is oh so stylish!

And I forgot to mention--when I started Scribbit I used a pen name. Call it newbie paranoia but I thought it would be safer and then by the time I figured out that I was probably being overly cautious it was too much of a pain to change it. But I finally got around to changing everything over to my real last name which is what you'll now see on my Twitter and Facebook pages and everything associated with my blog. So if you're confused as to why you're suddenly seeing "Michelle Mitton" you're not alone. I've received several worried emails about my marital state so I thought it might need a tiny explanation.

Not to worry, we're still married.

The text is really difficult to read against the "wood" background.

I like it. Clearly anonymous has a slow connection and didn't wait for the "notebook" to show up.

How great, I love a new design! I'd get a new one every other month if it wasn't so stressful LOL

Wow...great look. Like the favicon too. Life is all about details. :)

Wow - it's so different, but I love the new look with the photos and all. It looks wonderful!

Ugh, it is so stressful to change everything out, but sounds like you had some great help with the process. :)

I like it. Very happy. It's fun to see all the active pictures of you and your family. Your post about kayaking with your daughter and her girls' group was so neato to me, so I'm liking seeing that photo at the top right.

I really like it! I got a new template, myself, yesterday and it is very similar. Do we have a cool brain-link or something?

I think the new design looks fantastic!

Very fun. Love the doodle font!

I ought to do something different with mine, I suppose, but since I have such a limited readership, it's hardly worth the trouble. It's not like Grandma cares. =)

Now I feel like I am reading a blog about Alaskan motherhood. While I obviously liked your last design well enough to create my own version, this seems to suit your blog so well.

Got anymore stories for us about the Alaskan wilderness? :)

It looks great! January is a good time for a blog update.

I'm not seeing a favicon. :( Maybe it's because I'm at work and using IE, instead of at home using Firefox.

I have to admit, with all the major mom blogs and blogging communities out there, I really like the simplicity of your old layout/design. I like your pictures around the top of this layout, but I'm honestly not crazy about the rest of it.

Sorry. :(

Mom24 said...

Holy Moly, that is fantastic. Everything it should have been. I love it.

I do, however, love the button, and I'm off to go put it on my blog!

The pics of your family are great! It will take a while to get used to, but that's not a bad thing. Congrats on the 'face lift'!

I like the new design, but you need more of a left margin so the text doesn't run into the spiral binding so much.

This is so cute! It gives your web site such an intimate feel.

Thanks for the hints on whether it's showing up on not. If anyone can't see the search box at the top of the sidebar please let me know--that was a concern.

The padding on the post is fixed so the writing doesn't leak into off the page too.

Love it. It seems very you. (Can I say that with any authority at all?) I especially love the pictures. You are a great story-teller, so seeing the different snapshots of all the hats you wear completes the circle.

Love it. I really need to learn some things about blog design.

About your name, it took me months on FB to notice it and when I did I thought it must've been your maiden name...then I thought, wow her maiden name and married name are pretty close. Uh duh.

BTW, keep doing what your doing. Your e-book was one of the first books I read on blogging and has so much great information for newbies and not so newbie bloggers.

Cyn also did my website. Love her!!!
