Snicker Cookies

Snicker CookiesNot to be confused with Snickerdoodles, these are a favorite around our house partly because the kids like to help roll them up.

I brought this recipe to college with me and my room mate and I made them whenever we wanted to impress (usually a guy). Worked like a charm and she ended up taking the recipe home to Oregon with her so it's probably made it's way throughout the greater Pacific Northwest by now. Finally you know where it came from!

½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup butter
½ cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 egg
1 ½ cup flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoonsalt
10 Snickers bars--either snack size or fun size (which, being smaller isn't really "fun" now, is it?)

Combine the first five ingredients. Add the dry ingredients, flour through salt, and mix. Roll 1/4 cup of dough around each bar and bake at 375 for 13-16 min. For variety you can stick a popsicle stick through the dough and into the candy bar. Bake as instructed and you've got Cookie on A Stick.

Actual chunks of Snickers are baked right in? Oh, my! I'd be afraid I'd eat them all. Seriously. Snickers has always been one of my favorites. Thanks for the scrumptious Eat Christmas Cookies entry, Michelle.

My kids think any kind of cookie on a popcicle stick is AWESOME. We will have to try these later. Thanks.
