A Bird in the Hand . . .

Spring ChickensWe've got chickens running around the house, Grace's class hatched them from eggs and it's our turn to babysit Zorro, Hershey and Tiger. Technically they're not running in the house, but around the house--and they're fast. Makes me quite the hip suburban mom: children, a minivan and now chickens.

We had baby chicks a few years back. They are so cute and even had different personalities.

It's a great experience for your kids. Too many only know the chicken that oomes in a bucket.

I wonder if they'd get along with our rabbits? Never mind. Overtired as usual.

Well if that isn't just the most precious thing! My daughter would LOVE to be at your house right now. The chicks might not love her back, but boy would she be in heaven.

Never heard of having to deal with that, but give them some time to grow and I can put them to use at Chick-fil-a! I have a woodpecker on my WW, and a praying kitten!

WOW! That's so cool - I like how fluffy they are. My parakeets aren't so keen on being held and touched.

My favorite part about second grade was hatching chicks, although we never got to bring them home.

And where do the cats who like to eat spring chicken hang out? Very cute photo. I think I like the chicks' names best, though! You have to wonder how the class reached "consensus" on those.

hi scribbit! what a great pic. so cute. we have a bird couple who has moved into one of my birdhouses in our yard. never had this happen before. so neat. you can hear them in there talking. and you can see the birdhouse moving at times, maybe they are dancing. we are trying not to disturb them and keep a healthy distance away. husband even tried very hard not to squirt the birdhouse when he cleaned the motorhome the other night. we hope they have babies. wouldn't that be so cool?

~blessings to you and your chickadees :) kathleen

Wow! I hereby declare you an honorary red neck!

All you need is someone playing banjo on your front porch.

Little chicks are cute. They turn into ugly birds though. Can you tell one from the other?
