GloStar Bags Saturday Giveaway

GloStar Bags Morning Gloria Cosmetic Case in Island BlueGloStar Bags based in Portland, Oregon specializes in oil skin and vinyl handbags and cosmetic cases that are as bright and original as they are useful. If you're not familiar with oil skin, it's shiny and feels rather like plastic but backed with fabric for stability, a useful material for making travel totes, wallets and cases.

My purse-onal favorite (sorry, really bad pun) is the Pouch Bag which I would probably order in . . . let me see . . . it's so hard to choose. Take a look at the fabrics yourself and see which one you like best by clicking here. Each piece is terrifically functional, with zippers and compartments in all the right places--and I've always been a sucker for compartments and zippers.

For today's giveaway I have courtesy of GloStar Bags an oilskin "Morning Gloria" cosmetic case pictured at the right in the cheerful "Blue Island" pattern. The first thing my teenage daughter said when she saw it (besides "Can I have it? Please??") was "That would be perfect for my art supplies!" And she's right. There is a clear vinyl section in the center that could be used for tubes of oil or watercolors and sections on both sides that could hold colored pencils or charcoals.

It would also be perfect for sewing items, embroidery supplies or even a little girl's Fashion Polly collection (if you too happen to have a five year-old Fashion Polly addict around the house). I'd even suggest using it as a fishing tackle pouch because that was the running joke in my house while growing up. My Dad would say as we opened birthday presents, "That's no good, you didn't get any fishing tackle!" However, if you did use it for fishing tackle the striking blue background and brightly colored fruits may throw your fishing buddies for a loop, unless your fishing buddies happen to be fashionable women, then they'd probably congratulate you on your amazing ingenuity and lucky find.

The possibilities are endless.

Here's how to win:

Before 12 am Monday go to the giveaway entry form on this page and enter your name and email. I will pick one of the names at random, contact the winner via their email and publish the winner's first name and home town in next Tuesday's post. See the bottom of the entry form for more details.

This Saturday Giveaways is open to everyone regardless of where you live. If you can receive a package then you can enter. Good luck!

Your giveaways are the best ever! How do you stop yourself from just stashing them in your closet??!!!
The oil cloth is very much like a product that was made in the 1950's and '60s by DuPont Corporation called "Fabrikoid" (sp)
My grandfather worked for DuPont, and we always had this (but not these gorgeous prints of course, just plain colors) to cover the picnic table, or outdoor furniture, etc.
