Polymer clay is one of the best craft products ever made--it can be used for nearly anything--and to make this cute Halloween necklace I used pearlescent white Sculpey clay which makes a wonderful lightly marbled effect.First, use a rolling pin to lightly roll a piece of clay to about 1/4 inch thickness, then cut the basic outline of the ghost with a razor blade or an Exacto knife. Smooth the edges with your fingers, you can make them a little cleaner by rolling a smooth edge (like a fat pen) along them. Slightly bend up his arms to give him some movement, then poke a needle through his head. You'll need to then make it a little wider by poking a wooden skewer through, it ought to be large enough for a cord to string through.
Bake him at 130 degrees for 15 minutes, let him cool, string him on a leather cord, attach a barrel clasp and you've got the cutest little ghost pendant on the block. If you don't have time to make your own you're welcome to browse through my Etsy shop where I have extras for sale.

I love love love Sculpey. I've made a number of switchplate covers, plaques and some mushrooms for the garden (for about .75 each instead of the $18 the catalog wanted. sheesh). But no halloween things - the ghost necklace has inspired me though! Both kids would love it. Tomorrow is our down day (nowhere to go), so that may be our project. Thanks!
