Of Prunes and Other Grape Things

Prunes and Other Grape ThingsIt's been a long week of sickness that has finally abated but has left me quarantined in my home for most of the past seven days. So today I leave you with Quotes of the Week--may you make more sense of them than I do.

Overheard after running club: "I'm so sweaty I bet you could put your finger at the top of my nose and it would just slip right off with all the sweat. See? See?"

***

Overheard during Basic Training in the garage: "They ought to make bombs in the shape of kitchen utensils. Then you when you needed to bomb somebody you could just say, 'Hey, here's some kitchen utensils!'"

***

Overheard during a game of "Trick-or-Treating Legos" (don't ask) I heard an unnamed adult--not me--say, "Tell us about the vampires. Make it short but interesting."

***

Overheard during snacks at the kitchen counter: "Marc loves anything grape. ANYTHING. Except prunes--he doesn't like prunes."

***

I need to get out more.

I'm sorry you were sick - apparently you had some entertainment during your quarantine, though.

Glad you're better

Ha ha ha. Those are awesome quotes and very similar to the profound things I hear around our place. Last night my son tried to explain why he couldn't sleep in his bed. "I keep hearing a sound that is from China, but when I try to listen to it I can't hear it."

Just once, I'd like to overhear someone admit that they freaking LOVE prunes, ya know?

I hope you're completely recovered soon.

Well, prunes are purply and, umm, a fruit so...pretty much grapes.

Love your quotes. You've given me a Thursday Thirteen idea.

My brother in law, who is visiting me at the present time taught my 2 oldest sons an old Indian saying, (so he says) "Those who eat may prunes sit on toilet seat many moons."

What a very educated BIL I have and now I'm not going to hear the end of this. Knowing my sons, they will convert this any way possible always ending it in....sit on toilet seat many moons."

I also wanted you to know I got my purse and I love it....I'll also add the Mom's search to the MTM blog soon, I've just been lazy about blog stuff lately.

Thanks for the laugh...especially the kitchen utensil one...frightening, yet funny!

I laughed at the bombs. You see, my child with autism uses kitchen utensils as fidget tools. He fusses and fidgets with a spatula or meat tenderizer or ladle to keep focused. When he cleaned out his backpack last June, we found (ta-da!) my good Pampered Chef medium spatula!! In his Civics folder!

Love the quotes. Kids (and unnamed adults) can be cute.
