Behold, the Mighty Mini Spatula!

Mini SpatulaI can't believe that it's taken mankind so long to come up with this wonder of modern bake ware.

I mean, we've put a man on the moon, cloned a sheep, mapped the mysteries of the human chromosome, yet it wasn't until last year that this was invented: The Mini Spatula. It's like the Napoleon of kitchen utensils, small but powerful.

For goodness sake, there have been spatulas and pancake turners around for centuries, but when it's the very first piece out of the pan you can't get the spatula down in there without tearing things up and you end up resorting to a fork but the fork rips half the bottom off the piece and so you find yourself digging pathetically in the bottom of the pan to piece things back together because you're darned if you're going to let perfectly good calories go to waste like that.

Who was it who finally said, "You know, what I really need me is a mini spatula and I'll be able to pop this piece of cake right on outta there"?

I got mine as a topper on a Christmas present and had no idea such thrills were in store for me. I cannot live without this. You must get one for yourself.

I've requested that it be buried with me when I die because if there's cake in heaven (and I have it on good authority there will be), I'm going prepared.

I always think it's funny when something like this comes out that is so useful and we are all thinking duh...why didn't someone think of this before????

Wish I'd invented it! :)

A couple of years ago, I bought a mini spatula from Pampered Chef. It's great for squares and brownies. It's not rubber though.

I have a mini spatula from Pampered Chef, too, but I needed one for my nonstick pans. I finally saw these silicone things while shopping this past weekend. This is a great stocking stuffer for me!

The Pampered Chef has had a Mini spatula in their product line for a while now. I got mine a few years ago and I love it!

lovely...my favorite piece is my pampered chef small spatula...same item, different name. We are really simple people, aren't we? Well, I just read the comments and I am not the only pampered chef fan, eh?

I love it. But don't you think that the cakes in heaven will slice themselves perfectly and not fall apart? :)

I, too, have a mini spatula from Pampered Chef, but I don't use it nearly as often as I need to b/c it is metal and so are most of my pans. More often there are times that a rubber one would work better. Yay for a rubber mini spatula! It's about time!

I have had mini spatulas for years. I have a few different sizes. Maybe this one is special and I just don't know about it. I love new kitchen gadgets/utensils.

*ok wait! I just looked at the link. It's the angled handle and flexible part that sets this one apart. Colours are dreamy too. I love red.

What do you suppose the international shipping runs on those bad boys?

Dearie, dearie, me. I would have thought that after your artfully composed piece on photography the other day [or was that a late night poking around in your archives?] that you would have grasped the basics!

Mini! Mini? How mini? How can we tell? Doll sized mini, European sized mini or American mini, which of course is really huge.

Cheers

I am sooo glad Christmas is coming. I can request hubby or the boys get me one!!! Aren't kitchen gadgets addicting?

I have a small cake-cutter/spatula from Pampered Chef that absolutely love. In fact, if it disappears, the family will have no more birthday cakes until it resurfaces.

It looks just perfect for flipping those dollar size pancakes.

I am in love with silicone spatulas and have an ever-growing collection. For food and soap. I have to mark them now though so not to get them confused.

Could there be a better description of trying to get pie and cake out of the pan?

Every year when my husband asks, "What do you want for Christmas?" I happily respond that I have everything I've ever wanted. This year, because of all my blog reading, I have a list a mile long. I've just added mini spatula to my list. Thanks!

Oh, if they're as divine as you say they, are then I imagine we'll just have one at each place setting.

Ok, Ok, I'm gonna get one. ;)

I ordered three of these as stocking stuffers. While I am happy with the product (so cute!) and the speed at which they arrived, I am not happy with the shipping amount I paid vs. the the actual amount charged. My advise - order over the telephone and not through the website, the shipping could be less.

I believe it has everything to do with where you live, and unfortunately, Alaskan's get overcharged a lot.

PS -
This has nothing to do with your recommendation. I am always after new kitchen gadgets. Thanks for the great idea!

It is frustrating--so many places charge extra to ship to Alaska when there's no extra cost for them. It's really a scam. I'll avoid places like Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel for that reason.

Do you hear me Pottery Barn? Are you listening? Your shipping policies stink!

Also, if you're in Anchorage, you might try Habitat--last year they carried these guys up by the cash register.
