A Fire-Breathing Dragon Scarf

Fire-Breathing Dragon ScarfIf I don't watch out, I'm going to turn this into a craft blog. Ack! With the cold weather coming on strong I've been sitting by our new fireplace with my fuzzy pink slippers and knitting away like a crazy lady. I'll have to post other photos a bit later . . .

I found this pattern for the world's cutest dragon scarf at Knitting Minnesota in a PDF file and just finished it. Get a load of the fuzzy fiery streams coming from his mouth. Could life get cuter than this?

Fire-Breathing Dragon ScarfThe directions are all there on the PDF file, but I made mine much longer than the pattern called for. Measure it against your child to make sure it's long enough. I also stuck with one green yarn and pink for the mouth rather than two different greens for the body and red for the mouth--just personal preference and a daughter infatuated with all things pink.

Oh! And I made the point on the tail bigger. I liked it bigger so that's what I did. I go wild like that sometimes.

That's so adorable! I wish I could knit but I have tendonitis in both wrists and elbows so that is a hobby I can't take up. :) I wonder if my boys would wear something like that? I have a terrible time getting them to wear winter gear but thankfully it doesn't get THAT cold here.

Can scarves get any cuter than that? Now I fell bad, again, that I don't know how to knit.

That is SO cute! Learning to knit is on my short list of things to do. My mom knits and she makes my kids the cutest stuff!

That is the sweetest dragon/scarf I have ever seen in my life! I love it! Too bad I could never figure out how to knit. Sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, etc. yes, but knitting, no! I'll just admire from a distance. Too cute.

That almost made me want to knit, but not for my daughter...my 43 year old brother who lives in Juneau loves all things dragon. I'd make one for him, to see if he would actually wear it. :)

I think yours is cuter than the one they show in the directions... no offense to them of course.

That is a great scarf. I don't have any dragon lovers, but one can NEVER have too many patterns....

What a fun scarf...please don't turn into a craft blog unless you incorporate your wit into the instructions.

That is one bitchin' scarf. My nephew will love it. I've been lookin' for something to make him for Christmas.

Where in Alaska do you live? My hubby and I used to live in Anchorage. We have a cabin at Lake Clark.

Fantastic! Maybe I could adjust this and make an alligator for my granny-in-law? (She'd like it.)

That is SUCH an adoreable scarf! LOVE it.

I think I need to learn now to knit just so I can knit that scarf.

Ditto. Haven't knitted since before my almost 3 1/2 year old grandaughter was born. This looks like something she would love. I'll let you know.
