Update on the Write-Away Contest

Write-Away Contest Winner ButtonWow, all I can say is "Wow!"

There are some nice people out there who jumped right in and either sent me a new button or offered to put one together. I should send you all flowers!

But maybe mentioning their names might be more helpful?

This beautiful button was designed by Cally at Calico isn't it pretty?

But not only does she deserve my thanks but Jordan at Mamablogga, Summer at Summer's Nook and Ames at Yay Pie! jumped in with their own kind offers of help and if I can convince you to visit their fine blogs (their very fine blogs) then I can in some small way repay their niceness.

If you have been a past Write-Away winner or runner-up and would like the code for this updated, sleeker, sexier button then just shoot me an email and it'll be on the way.

I have a few other things to mention:

First, Touchpoint is an annual event for women entrepreneurs hosted by Startup Princess. It's being held in Sandy, Utah (that's a suburb of Salt Lake City) on September 26th from 8am-5pm and Startup Princess herself has kindly offered a free ticket to the conference. You can get the early bird registration special of $99 until September 9th (be sure to mention that you heard about it here when you register!) and the first 50 to register get a bonus of a special 1-hour business mentoring session. Not bad.

To win a ticket to the conference please leave a comment on this post and I'll draw a winner at random on Saturday morning. That way if you don't win you can still be eligible for the early bird discount.

Second, 5 Minutes for Mom is posting about how blogs can change lives with stories of the good that can come from the magic of the internet. Consider that an invitation to visit their site and let them know what you think of their efforts.

And while you're there, here's the second clip from my interview with Janice and Susan--the director gave us a hard time about our different pronunciation techniques. Apparently I need a dialect coach.

Third, Carrie at Mommy Brain is holding a giveaway--no hints, you'll have to go see it to get the details.

And finally I completely forgot to post the results of this weekend's giveaway yesterday until I was politely reminded by an anonymous commentator. Thanks for keeping me in line! I'm afraid my day was crazy, the house was crawling with workmen including but not limited to: 1 contractor, 4 plumbers, 2 electricians, 1 framing inspector, 2 architects and their friend, 1 husband and 1 crew from an unspecified location who arrived a day early to do their job. But at least they got a lot done, right? Everyone was working together so well and was so efficient even with the issue of no hot water I found myself feeling better.

Anyway, I updated yesterday's post with the winner's info so scroll down or refresh your page for the information. More this weekend . . .

Silly director. Different pronunciation is part of what defines our countries (the same thing happens here in Canada). (Route = "root" or "r-ow-t".) It only serves to illustrate how diversity flourishes here. I think it's sweet how the one interviewer switched her pronunciation to match yours. :)

I too say nitch. And I endured both high school and college French!

Great advice, btw.

Thanks so much for the insightful comment over at my blogjoint. It was a pleasant surprise to see you in my comment queue.

WOW! I am so interested in what you are doing for women. I love being a mom and want to get going. How fun, I want to come! I try to only work when the kids are asleep, so I have to be efficient. It is good to hear other people know the in and out's.

I'd love to have the new button! I'd drop you an email, but your address is on the computer that imploded this week! :( Thanks!

Ooh, I like the button, and it's a totally different approach than what I would have probably done (more illustration-y). Cool!
