Yes We Have No Bananas

A total impulse buy. Why is everything cuter when it's tiny? Baby bananas were too cute to pass up.

And I don't even like bananas!

Sponsored by Dimples and Dandelions with the Serena and Lily Bedding Collection for children.

Those are so cute! I wish we had them here. I'm allergic to bananas, but my baby loves them. She can't quite eat a whole one, so part of it always ends up being wasted.

Sera - Don't toss that leftover banana!!! Pop it into a plastic bag in freeze. A frozen banana is great for teething baby, making a little smoothie with a splash of orange juice, or a loaf of banana bread as hostess gift.

Question - How does a "baby" banana compare to "adult" banana?

You know you're kind of asking the wrong person, as I mentioned I don't like bananas (too mushy) but my kids weren't impressed. They said they tasted just like the regular kind and these seemed to ripen too quickly.

Those would be perfect at my house! My kids only like a little bit of a banana which means half gets wasted!

These look like Apple Bananas. I Love bananas when they are yellow with no black spots at all. Now, apple bananas are way better when they are more ripe with some black spots on the outside. Yum!

I can't walk by those things in the grocery store without hearing Boots (from Dora the Explorer) say, "Have a baby banana!"

I just want to say "yay" for the song quote in the blog title. I love that song. :)

Really, no bananas? Does that include banana pie?! I can't imagine life without banana cream pie....

Those are called "little apples" in Honduras because they taste a bit different than regular bananas, at least if they are fresh. They are a bit tart. I love'em. Enjoy or as we say down here, Buen provecho!

Agreed - I adore all things tiny (e.g., kittens)! By the way, to prevent bananas from ripening too quickly, separate them (and I don't mean put them in different rooms or anything - just take them apart so they're no longer connected). It will slow down the ripening process!

Great tip Janna, I didn't know that! I love those little bananas and so do my kids. I put them in their lunches and they love them because they are so cute!

They are terribly cute. I've been tempted by them before!

hahaha. I have the same problem. It was obviously in the genes because my mother did the same. Bananas just look so doggone cute in a fruit bowl.
Every week I buy them and every week, I make my child eat them. I'm certianly not going to.
