FLOR Carpeting Giveaway

Okay this was a new thing for me but after trying it out I'm pretty excited.

You've probably heard of FLOR modular carpeting, right? It's a company that makes carpeted tiles that you can fit together to make easy-to-install carpeting, either as a wall-to-wall option or as an area rug.

I'd seen them before and wondered how they worked so when FLOR approached me about trying a sample for myself I jumped at the chance.

See the faux boix pattern to the right here? That's from the new Martha Stewart collection and that's the one I selected to go under our dining room table and I LOVE it. The floor tiles have this non-skid backing and you just lay them out as tightly as you can and adhere these stickers at the points where the tiles meet to hold it together. Instant rug.

I can see a couple really great things about this (besides the fact that we now have toasty warm feet while we're eating dinner). Even though the squares are treated with stain resistor if you should happen to get a stain on one of the tiles it's easy to pop it out and replace it without having to replace a full-sized rug.

Also, it makes it very nice if you want to match carpeting. We have a section of hallway where I'd like to have a rug but didn't want to get one that didn't match the rest of our carpet. All I need are a few of the tiles and its guaranteed to match and be the perfect size for a hall rug.

Martha Stewart's collection also has this fun "Arachnophobia" pattern that makes decorating for holidays easy--I thought that it was not only a great pattern but a clever idea.

Now if you're like me you're probably wondering if you can see the seams between the tiles. Kind of. I mean, with the faux bois pattern if you get up close on your hands and knees to look under the table you'll see where the tiles meet but I don't notice it otherwise. Some patterns are going to be easier to camouflage that way--I would think that a patchwork of colored tiles which are meant to be seen as individual tiles would be perfect because the seams would be absorbed into the pattern but seams on a solid color rug would be harder to hide. Just a thought. As you vacuum and the fibers relax the seams blend even better.

Well thanks to FLOR I have for one lucky winner their choice of rug (excluding Shaggy Sheep and Coir). They will receive 12 tiles to make their own area rug--a size of 5 feet by 7 feet so check out the FLOR site to get your creativity flowing. Or flooring. Or whatever.

Here's how to win:

Before 12 am Monday morning go to the giveaway entry form on this page and enter your name and email. I will pick one of the names at random, contact the winner via their email and publish the winner's first name and home town in next Tuesday's post. See the bottom of the entry form for more details.

This giveaway is open to U.S. readers only.

Oops! I missed the last line of your post, so I guess you should remove me from the giveaway. A fun one, though! I'd never thought of holiday-themed rugs like that.

These look awesome! I promise not to crawl under your table and look for the seams LOL, Thank you for reviewing them. I had been seeing them and wondered how they were.

I just adore FLOR designs and I love how you can mix and match. A girl could get quite creative (if her husband isn't a stick in the mud that is).

I see you've finally been able to sample some FLOR! We love what we have in our living and on our stairs. You can't see the seams on our stairs but we purposefully did a pattern in the living room so it looks like a basketweave.

Hurray for FLOR!

These rugs are great! If the kids ruin a tile, voila! it can easily be replaced with a new one.
