I'm Out and About Today

I'm on hiatus today, I'll be speaking at the Twitter conference here in Anchorage at 10:15 am so if you happen to be downtown this morning drop on by the Snow Goose restaurant and say hello. But catch me quick because it's also parent-teacher conferences this afternoon so I'll be on the road again by lunch.

Which reminds me . . . if you're not doing anything in February I'll also be speaking at Blissdom 2010 the first week of the month in Nashville--I believe the topic they asked me to hit is "Modern Mommy Blogging" which will be a great one. Never been to Nashville and I cannot wait, I have always wanted to go to Tennessee. See you there!

And besides this, I've got a few items for your attention:

It still hasn't snowed . . . just in case you were wondering, so the snow contest marches on without a winner yet.

What do you think about the new Speed-Writing Craze? (Or should I say "Crazy" and give away my own opinion on the matter?)

Think it's expensive to get married? Check out the list of all-time Most Expensive Weddings. Then laugh.

Check out the instructions on making your own bath tub paint--we used to do this ages ago.

I know it's not anywhere near Christmas yet but I love the simplicity of this wooden block Nativity set. I imagine I could try and make one myself if I had some patience.

Check out this two-in-one desk/bed that I covet.

Make up a batch of this Rhubarb Nut Bread or these Grasshopper Squares . . . thank you . . . don't mind if I do!

Sponsored by Pak Naks--decorate your stuff!

Well you have just officially become PERSON I AM MOST EXCITED TO MEET IN REAL LIFE at Blissdom. In fact, I might become your stalker there. I will be the one with the cute baby :)

Have fun at your conferences. My parents are from Tennessee. The Grand Old Opry Hotel Is awesome.

I would love it if you make it to Illinois for a speech!.

Hmmmmm. Nashville is within driving distance. If only I could convince my family that Blissdom is more important than my son's 2nd birthday. :) (kidding, of course)

I'm thrilled to learn that you'll be speaking at BlissDom. I live in Nashville, I'm a new mommy blogger, and I purchased my BlissDom ticket on Monday. I hope the weather is welcoming that weekend and that you have an opportunity to see Nashville beyond the convention site. It's a wonderful city.

You haven't gotten snow yet? Colorado wins, then! Eight inches so far, with another 18+ expected by tomorrow night. Wheeeee....

And you know what? It's snowing right now. Though it's not sticking at all, I may have to make an announcement later today if it does.

And as for Blissdom, it'll be fabulous to meet you too!

You floored me when you said it hadn't snowed yet. You're in Alaska, for crying out loud! We're on snow #2 here in Colorado, and this one is looking to be a doozy. Maybe I should move to Alaska!

That Study Bed is the coolest thing! I am going to need those in my kid's room in the near future. Their rooms are too small for a bed and a desk. What a great solution.

Any chance you could get the company to do a giveaway!? ;)

I'll leave speed-writing to the people who love it. It's hard to speed write the long stories I write. LOL

I was just wondering if it had snowed for you yet, since it was snowing in Utah Valley yesterday (no sticking down here, either, but there was some stickage in SL Valley).

I can't believe it hasn't snowed in Alaska yet - we live in western NY state - and it has snowed 3 times here - once it was 4 inches!!!!

Wow! You are packing a lot in today (both your life and your blog.). I always love your links. You find the neatest stuff to share. I am wondering if it takes you a long time to compile these links, though.

I didn't comment on your earlier post about negative and mean comments, but I can relate. I haven't had stuff posted on my blog, but I see/hear/think it myself. I was recently reminded that instead of judging others we should put ourselves in their shoes and wonder what may have happened to them in the moments or hours before we are seeing them at what could be their worst. The short phrase is "turning judgment to wonder". I love having that phrase to bring to mind in those moments when I am tempted to judge another. Thanks for the post!!

I soooo want to go to Blissdom. I need to find a sponsor, sugar daddy, or a winning lottery ticket, though. Have a great time!

My rhubarb nut bread is a lot like this one! I usually freeze rhubarb in summer so I can make it when the snow flies.

I remember going to the Snow Goose for dinner when we were in Alaska four years ago...
The bed/desk is a great idea for small spaces...I don't understand the prices though?..

Are you speaking in NY any time soon? I think you should. :)

A. I wish I was going to be at Blissdom to hear you speak! You have so much blogging wisdom to share. Unfortunately, however, I won't be able to attend because I already purchased my ticket to the Mom 2.0 Summit and 2 conferences in one month is just too much!

B. That StudyBed contraption is genius. I love space-savers like that.

So glad you are speaking at Blissdom. I am hoping I can make it that direction...fingers crossed.
