Blissdom 2010

Blissdom 2010I'm starting to get excited for this year's Blissdom conference in Nashville next month--making plans and anticipating what fun it'll be to get Outside for a couple days and learn new things.

Are you going? I sure hope you are because I'm looking forward to meeting some of my fine blogging friends. Even more than I'm looking forward to seeing Tennessee for the first time, even more than staying in the amazing Gaylord Opryland Hotel (with the indoor gardens--have you seen it??) and even more than I'm looking forward to sharing the podium with some of the greatest bloggers out there.

Because I'll be speaking at two separate conference sessions, both on Saturday. First, I'll be there at the 10 am for "Blogging with the Stars" where Holly Buchanan will be talking about how four bloggers--me being one of them--got to where they're at. It ought to be very helpful, not only because Holly has effective insights into blogging but because Tsh Oxenreider, Dana Loesch and Melissa Michaels will be there as well. I'm hoping to learn from it myself.

Then I'll be at the 3:30 session, "Memoir Writing: The Power and Mystery of Telling Our Stories" where Megan Jordan, Catherine Connors, Tanis Miller and I will be talking about how blogging can contribute to your writing in other genres--the marriage between blogging and writing your memoir, the problems that can arise and the benefits from trying a new medium. It ought to be a great session as well.

So if you haven't yet decided to go I hope you'll come and if you're planning on being there I hope we can meet up. My flight gets into Nashville Thursday evening and I'd like to plan some fun get-togethers on Friday and more on Saturday evening. Drop me an email if you have the time.

I would SO love to be there, but have a conflict that weekend. Any way I could get notes or a podcast from your memoir writing workshop? I'd go just for that!!

I should go since it is right in my backyard and all... but I am not sure yet. Enjoy Nashville. It really is an amazingly beautiful place.

Oh, I just learned about this, and there wouldn't be any way for me to attend. However, my mil is a fledgling blogger / writer, so I'll pass the information on to her! Perhaps she could make it. Thanks for letting me know about it.

Unfortunately Ireland is a wee bit far, or I would be there!

Maybe sometime, some year, I will get to a bloggy conference.

So what are you most looking forward too? For me, a plane ride and a stay in a hotel ON MY OWN might just be the highlight!!!

I'll be there! Last year was fantastic, and I can't wait to get there this year. Will look for you!

Wow, sounds like fun! I surely can't go, but it sounds like it will be very helpful for bloggers. Both speaking engagements you have sound so interesting. Can you post notes or blog about the topics afterwards?

I'll be interested to hear how the conference goes. The British Mummy Bloggers network are holding their first ever blogging conference this summer. I would imagine a number of us will be reading your posts with interest.

Sounds like a fun trip! Enjoy it and bring back pictures for those of us who can't make it. :)

I'm dying to go! Unless I find a money tree, a sugar daddy, or win the lottery it probably isn't in the cards this year. :-(

Have a great time for the rest of us!

Oh my gosh, the Gaylord Opryland Hotel is AMAZING! I've only seen it once, at Christmastime, when they had the entire hotel decked out for the holidays. It is huge and beautiful! If you're a shopper, be sure to jump next door to the Opry Mills Mall... a shopper's true dream come true :)

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE COMING ALL THE WAY FROM ALASKA TO MEET ME!!!

Wait a second...sorry for that moment of delusion ;).

Cannot wait to meet you, friend. It's about time and honestly, I never thought we'd have the chance!

Safe travels!

Wow, that sounds really fun! Is there somewhere that lists the various blogging conferences that are coming up? I'm always trying to find some but usually hear about them after the fact. :) I hope you have a great time. Your digital book is what lead me to your site a few months ago - I had downloaded it on my Kindle. So, I know the other attendees will learn a lot from you!

I'll be there. Holding up a back wall, probably. But I'll be there. Can't wait to hear meet you and hear your spiel. :-)

Have a wonderful time, Michelle! I can't wait to hear all about it.

I'm opting out of most conferences/events this year because I can't bear to leave my baby behind. There will be other opportunities in the future, I'm sure of it. :)

You probably don't know me, but I'll probably be hanging on the back wall with Lora Lynn. So totally looking forward to hearing you speak and possibly meeting you :D

By the way, Robin is absolutely the best! Love her to death!

Holy Cannoli! You live in ALASKA??

Well, hot dog, we are practically neighbours.

And can I just say, I'm finding a small comfort in knowing there is at least ONE person attending Blissdom who has to travel further than I do to get there. yay!

I would love to be there too but can't! Especially for your "Memoir Writing: The Power and Mystery of Telling Our Stories" session. Notes or whatever? from that would be great - it is so where I am at!!!! I am a new Kiwi Mummy Blogger from New Zealand - your blogsite was recommended to me by a Kiwi friend who also lives in Alaska! I'm enjoying it very much! Thanks.

Michelle, I found your blog today after a friend suggested that I check out your free e-book, Blogging in Pink. I've already read most of it and all I can say is Wow! You are such an inspiration and I am learning so much! After reading your book, I would love to go to Blissdom and hear you speak but can only dream at this point. I know I could learn so much more. Thank you for your generosity! Now, back to reading...

Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness. I want to do something to get all my TN blogging friends together. I want to come. I am going to be looking into this one.

This is so tempting!! I'm from Nashville, but we were just there last week, and Pop can't handle company more than once about every 6 months.

It's national delurking day, so here I am, delurking up a storm!

I'll be at Blissdom, too. Yay!

Your panels sound excellent. Catherine and Tanis are all kinds of awesome on a panel, so how could the memoir panel not rock?

Can't wait!
