Who Wanted Cake Anyway?

Lest you think I'm all about perfect over here . . .

My life only runs by multi-tasking and this is what happens when you try to take a cake out of the oven while talking to your mother on the phone.

If you're wondering, yes we ate it. I pieced it back together, covered it with enough glaze to cover the cosmetic surgery and they snarfed it right up. The natives had smelled it cooking for an hour and I wasn't going to get away without producing something to appease the dessert gods--dessert is the only reason they sit down at the table every night.

Though I'll never try the recipe again. The batter was too much for the pan and it bubbled over onto the floor of my oven--Grrr! And it took 20 minutes less time to cook than it said it would so it was rather overdone.

And it broke as I took it out of the pan (in case you missed the enormous picture to my upper right). And (sniff) I'm not that big on pineapple cakes anyway.

Hardly worth the calories.

It still looks good to me, I'd eat it. It looks like some of my attempts at cake making.

Yeah, cover it in glaze or frosting and it's still all good. Better luck next time.
