Seersucker Saturday Giveaway

Seer-sucker PurseI'm going to be out of touch with reality for the next few days as the family pours through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows together. We're reading it out loud so it'll take a while to get through and consequently blogging is suddenly taking a back seat--I mean this is important people!

So for today's giveaway I'm doing something a little different. Different is good, right? I've written about my seriously sorry handbag fetish that has blossomed into full-blown obsession to the point that I've been making bags all over the place (ten at last count, not to mention the one I've bought). What's a woman to do with so many bags? Give them away of course!

So here's today's Scribbit Giveaway: a blue and white seersucker purse with rattan handles and seed pearl embellishments on an embroidered floral appliqué. Made with love and affection by your favorite Alaskan blogger.

Kind of pretty, huh? Very summery and light and just saying "seersucker" makes me feel cool and breezy--isn't that a fun word to say? "Seersucker, seersucker, seersucker . . . " I had a Computer Science 142 teacher who frequently wore a seersucker suit that matched this bag (without the flowers and pearls of course as he was a man) . . . but I digress.

Made according to the placemat purse tutorial I posted last week, it's a simple bag that is small enough not to overburden but large enough to carry a book--maybe HARRY POTTER?

So if you like it just follow the directions below and good luck! May the Force be with you.

Here's how to win:

Before 12 am Monday go to the giveaway entry form on this page and enter your name and email. I will pick one of the names at random, contact the winner via their email and publish the winner's first name and home town in next Tuesday's post. See the bottom of the entry form for more details.

This Saturday Giveaways is open to ALL Scribbit readers regardless of where you live. If you can receive a package then you can enter. Good luck!

If anyone has trouble with the entry form would you please leave a comment to that affect? I had a couple reports of it not working properly.

The bag is lovely. I'm glad I took a break from reading Harry Potter to visit your site. Sounds like your family is going to have a great time reading the book together.

It's darling and I agree -- seersucker is so much fun. I love that you're reading Harry aloud together. Great idea.

We aren't reading out loud. The fast readers in the family don't have the patience for it. My 13 year old came with me to the book store to pick it up at midnight and she stayed up all night reading. I started reading first thing this morning, and now my 10 year old is 200 pages in to it. We'd agree that we'd read it in order of fastest to slowest reader, which seems to have been accurate. My 13 year old finished the book in 7 uninterrupted hours. It took me nearly 12 hours (daytime with younger children needing things like meals) and now we'll see how long it takes my 10 year old to finish.
Enjoy!

Reminds one of the obnoxious salesmen that we had to deal with in the fifties and sixties. Hey, it does have the colors of the AK flag! Dosen't it?
