Nothing says cool like doing something off limits--like having dessert first. One of my kids' favorite things for dinner is to have breakfast for dinner. Anything at all: pancakes, waffles, cereal, French toast . . .
So why not surprise your child with breakfast for lunch? The next time you're making up pancakes or French toast or another breakfast delight, make a little extra to freeze and stick in their lunch. An Eggo waffle with jam, a tiny little stack of pancakes with cream cheese and fruit, a "pig in a blanket," breakfast pizza, scrambled eggs in a tortilla, even a cup of cold cereal to munch on straight from the cup would be fun. You could even try the standard PB&J between two pancakes, waffles or French toast and see what the reaction is.
I imagine that the kid who brings Lucky Charms will officially be The Coolest Kid at the Table.
