We call that stuff on the mountains "termination dust" because it means the end of summer. Seems like it's been slower coming than in other years but it's there, creeping closer and closer down the mountain towards us . . .

Yes, we have "termination dust" on the Sierras here also. We need to go through this for the needed moisture, but I prefer it to be brief.
