Termination Dust

Termination Dust in Anchorage, AlaskaWe call that stuff on the mountains "termination dust" because it means the end of summer. Seems like it's been slower coming than in other years but it's there, creeping closer and closer down the mountain towards us . . .

Have you got your post submitted for the Write-Away Contest? "Things that scare me" is the topic and I'd love to hear what's got you shivering.

Termination dust is a brilliant way to describe it. I here you, although, I think you get more cold than I do here in Montreal!

That's gorgeous, in a beautiful-side-of-evil kind of way.

Gorgeous photo. Here we judge the seasons in part by the behavior and thickness of the fog.

Yes, we have "termination dust" on the Sierras here also. We need to go through this for the needed moisture, but I prefer it to be brief.
