Gochemoche Giveaway

Pyramid Bag by GochemocheChinese New Year is fast approaching--everyone ready for the Year of the Rat starting February 7th? Well here's the perfect way to celebrate: a new purse!

You may have already heard of Gochemoche, the beautiful silks, bright colors and Asian inspiration are getting attention and with good cause. I love the way their designs mix the angles, colors and simplicity of modern style with the ornamentation and natural elements of traditional Asian style.

But a bit of information on the designers. First, there is
Gochemoche herself who is a "Turkish woman, obsessed with Japanese culture" and her specialties are the jewelry and bags you see. Then there's the German Engineer (Gochemoche's fiancee) who makes origami stars Finally, Asako is Gochemoche's Japanese friend who contributes to the shop as well. Quite the international blend but obviously it's a magical combination because I'm completely loving the items they're creating.

Though my favorite things are the pyramid purses like the one you see above, a big part of their shop centers around kanzashi which is a traditional Japanese hair ornament made from materials like wood, shell, gold, silver or fabric and made into intricate floral shapes. The Hot Red Chrysanthemum barrette you see below is made from folded hand-dyed silk and measures five inches across--really spectacular. When was the last time you could use the word "spectacular" in connection with a hair clip?

The kanzashi at gochemoche are used with barrettes, ponies, pendants and pins though it does say if you have a special request custom orders are welcome.

Silk Kanzashi Barrette by GochemocheFor today's giveaway Gochemoche has generously provided a special pyramid bag, pictured above, in celebration of the Chinese New Year and made from a print featuring Chinese astrological symbols, really a cute and unique little bag that's sure to get you some attention. Whoever gets this is guaranteed to have a terrific Year of the Rat.

Hi,
Got your name from Maddy and when I found out that you are actually living in Alaska I was so excited to make friends with you through blogging. I will be linking you with my blog and I hope you do the same with mine. Those are beautiful purses. They're so intricately done. I will be coming back to your blog as I want to know more about Alaska. Thanks for the wonderful post. God bless you and your family always. May the Lord watch over your comings and goings.

I've always liked your contests, but for me, this is THE contest.
The Gochimoche bag is right up my alley. Where has this purse been all my life?
It's so kawaii and so utsukushii and I have a million things to wear with it.
It would go equally well with my Japanese flag cadet hat or my kimono with the sakura print.
I think it's fate and this little beauty is destined to go home with me.
By the way, I love the multicultural design team.
The mix of different points of view reminds me of my family.
Thank you for the contest.
