The Magic Bullet Platinum Pro Giveaway

The Magic Bullet Platinum ProOkay I've done my share of product reviews in the last year but this one was the funniest (and funnest) ever. Two days after I was offered a chance to test the Magic Bullet Platinum Pro, which I was completely unfamiliar with, our nice Fedex man showed up with the package. I eagerly unwrapped it and set about testing the claim that I could now produce chocolate mousse in six seconds--Spencer and David spotted that part on the box right away and wouldn't let me rest until I'd checked it out.

Anyway, before I talk about results I'll say first that I set this little Bullet o' Magic on my kitchen counter. A day later my sister and her husband came over for a visit and noticed my new blender right away.

"OH MY GOSH! You've got a Magic Bullet! Lucky! Those are the coolest ever!"

Now it surprised me a little that a blender could excite those kinds of emotions in the human soul but hey, everyone's unique right? However, a couple days after that we had company over for dinner and they too noticed the Magic Bullet on my counter.

"WOW! You've got a Magic Bullet--do you just love it? My friends and I in college pooled our money to buy one of those!"

Apparently no one can speak of this blender without exclamation points.

Then to top it off the Fedex man returned the next day with another delivery and the first thing out of his mouth was, "So how do you like your Magic Bullet?"

I'm getting the feeling that this is a popular item. We don't have cable and I've never watched infomercials so up until now I've been sadly in the dark about the euphoria that awaits those who own a Magic Bullet.

But to be specific, The Magic Bullet Platinum Pro is the latest in the line and has a more powerful motor (350 horsepower--oops, I mean watts) and a few more gadgets. You not only get the regular blender pitcher with the lid and two different blades but it comes with a small mixing cup, a large mixing cup (you see that pictured above) and four plastic dishwasher-safe mugs that can also be screwed directly onto the blade and used for mixing or used with their perforated screw tops to steam veggies in the microwave.

So . . . how did it work? Like I said, the men here wouldn't rest until I tested out the "six seconds to mousse" assertion and the bullet did the job much better, much faster than anything I've seen. It wasn't six seconds, more like about thirty or forty-five, but it was still so fast, so convenient, so easy to clean up that it wowed me nonetheless--and it matches my kitchen perfectly. In fact I've given away my old blender that took up more room and am never going back. How's that for an endorsement?

We've tried guacamole, pina coladas, LOTS of mousse, whipped cream, smoothies and all of them worked great. I've found though that if you use one of the smaller attachments rather than the full pitcher that it makes it easier to lightly shake the mixer while it's running and speed up the process and get more uniformity in blending. Also, my only complaint would be that when I use the large pitcher the seal between the pitcher and the blade leaks a bit, which is inconvenient to say the least, but the package includes extra plastic washers that can be fit in to improve the seal and that should help.

The company sent me a link to a consumer piece a Salt Lake City television station did on the Magic Bullet showing a clip of the Mighty Mixer in action and I found it accurate.

So let's hope that today is your lucky day because I've got a Magic Bullet Platinum Pro to give away--though if you don't win Amazon had them on sale marked down from $135 to $69 which was $30 cheaper than anywhere else I've seen (and I think that was with Amazon's free shipping deal too).

Oh and my favorite smoothie so far? Take a handful of frozen strawberries, a handful of fresh pineapple, enough vanilla soy milk to give it the right consistency, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla and a tablespoon of honey. Mix it up and think of me . . .

Here's how to win:

Before 12 am Monday go to the giveaway entry form on this page and enter your name and email. I will pick one of the names at random, contact the winner via their email and publish the winner's first name and home town in next Tuesday's post. See the bottom of the entry form for more details.

I'm sorry but this giveaway is open to U.S. readers only.

I went into Kmart, hell bent on having one of these gizmos because I heard someone rhapsodizing over it. I inspected the box and price
(69.00!) closely and settled for a Hamilton Beach personal blender for 14.00. I just decided I didn't need all the bells and whistle's, I just wanna make a smoothie!

I've heard quite a lot about the Magic Bullet, but yours is the best endorsement I've seen.

I have a cheapie model and it works pretty good but his would be fantastic. My 13 year old even uses it with ease.

My blender takes up too much space on the kitchen counter and cabinet space is limited. This looks like just the solution....if you pick me!

Ok, you have got to find and watch the infomercial for this thing. One of the funniest infomercials I've ever seen. They even have a granny in a mumu, hair curlers, and smoking a cigarette. I'm thinking of buying it on DVD so the whole family can watch it. =)

Hi,

In Asia this bullet thing have been around for some time now.

One point to note is that the bullet is superb for baby food. Those who are starting off babies on solid food can blend the food into a nice paste and in very small quantities.

This would be great to own. I've wanted to get one of these for a long time!

Neil said...

Well you seemed to be kind of amazed by the gadget you got to try your hands on...but tell you lady...here in our country..India we see this product on television 20 times a day..but still despite this being so handy and efficient in use..people here are satisfied with the old mixer Grinders they use....sounds funny right..but that's how it is in here...

I was just passing by and got notice of your blog so stopped to post that's it..you've maintained it well and hope will continue to d o so....my best wishes to you :)

They have a multiple-hour long, very involved infomercial on before noon on sundays on the Food Network (yes, some sundays I have no life), it sure looked powerful and easy! I liked how they made omelets with it.

High Power Rocketry said...

For infomercial fans like me, the magic bullet commercials are far and away the best. Like the godfather of infomercials. But as usual, the product is pretty cheap and not all that great. A 12 dollar blender from Target will do similar work.

I used your entry form with my other email so this isn't an entry, I know. Just a comment. I have to say when you mentioned guac AND smoothies I was sold. Hey, I got a Cuisinart food processor for Christmas, why not this for my birthday? LOL My mom would be appalled. Those are presents for the HOUSE, not me, she would say. Okay, Mom.

I have been wanting one of these since they first came out. It just never seems to be in the stars for me to get one. Everytime we've got the extra money, some plumbing work needs to be done or one of the kids gets sick or somethings wrong with the car. The only way I'm going to get one at this point is if its given to me and, lo and behold, here is this giveaway! Could it be fate?
