Everything you see is made from chocolate.
Except the table--that's teak.
If you're wondering how I did it you can find the links here to the chess pieces mold and chess board mold on Amazon that provided the means.
If you're wondering why I did it I'll paraphrase the great Sir Edmund Hilary: "Because it was there."
Besides--wouldn't it be a fun idea for a cake topper? The boys gave it two thumbs WAY up.

Maybe if I made this for my husband, I could actually win a game against him. If I couldn't take any of his pieces, I'd just eat them when he wasn't looking!
mmmmm what a way to learn chess!
That is too neat! I don't know if I would want to eat it after all the hard work!
Love Bee's comment!
I second chelle...maybe if I had a chess set like this I'd be more motivated to learn.
Be fun for a birthday party of a Chess lover.
VERY cool! That would make a GREAT topper. Awesome.
This makes me want to play chess, because when I take one of your players they go strait to my belly!!
That is simply stunning!
That is a great idea! Although in my house it would be gone in minutes!
You are such a cool mommy! :) You TOTALLY deserved that mother of the year award from CNBC.
This is SO cool! And, I can totally relate to your reason for doing this- it was there! AND COOL!
Wow! That is adorable! Not sure I'd want to eat it after playing the game, though. But, Yum!
Wow those turned out fabulously!
You come up with the coolest projects. Did any game playing happen before the pieces were devoured?
I probably wouldn't make the chess pieces, but the checkers? That I would do. Although the chess pieces do look better. I was surprised that the molds were so inexpensive.
Now that! I like a lot! I'll go and check it out and see if I'm bankrupted.
Cheers
If you lose a game, you could just bite the head off the other player's king. That would be fun. :)
Only you! This makes me want to play chess. Isn't it amazing what they can do with chocolate?
Well it's funny--the game was used for about a week, they'd play a game but eat only a piece or two and substitute their plastic pieces in the pieces that had taken one for the team.
By the time the game had been around a few days those pieces had been so manhandled that I assure you it was no temptation for me at all to eat them.
yummy! Let me know when you come up with a way to make the table out of chocolate too!
Hmm . . . this may be the only way for my husband to entice me to play chess with him . . .
Oh man, I only have a few more weeks til I've gone a year without chocolate . . .
I think when you take someone's piece, you get to eat it. That way there's no cleanup of the game at the end!
I will repeat something that I'm sure I have said before in your comment section.
You are amazing! Is there anything crafty in which you have not dabbled?
That is adorable & would make a REALLY cute birthday cake for my hubby who loves chess!!! Me, I can't understand the game for the life of me. :)
Holy moly, that is amazing!
Never seen anything like it. Super sweet. The white chocolate I'd pass on, but the dark...I could eat a whole chess set's worth. Ummmmm. Or chop it up in my Vitamix and toss it into some waffle batter...
Cool! Love it!
Oh.my.gosh! That looks amazing. *sigh* I wanna eat, errr...ummm...I mean play! :)
"No, sorry, you can't have your queen back... But at least she was delicious!"
these are really beautiful!
and yummy, so it would seem!
Blessings!
I so want one of these! I have lots of chess sets, but none of them are made from chocolate. I would be tempted & afraid to eat it, at the same time. Mmm, chocolate! Thanks for the photo.
Very cool indeed. And tasty too, I'm sure.
