Lace Checkerboard Scarf

We've been in the midst of a spring snow storm all week here and I spent the day yesterday nice and cozy with the kids, enjoying being warm and happy while the snow whirled outside our windows.

Which is probably why I think I can get away with posting another knitting project. Temperatures here are perfect for scarves and this pattern is particularly feminine.

I got the pattern from Purl Bee and if you'd like to see it in slate blue they have a lovely picture posted there along with the directions.

Happy knitting!

And for all you non-knitters out there here are a few other links:

If you've got some sun try this brilliant sun dying technique for making fun t-shirts or fabric patterns.

Thinking Easter? These little egg cozies are sweet and warm.

Love this hand soap dispenser from a mason jar.

Tipnut has a whole gaggle of Easter and spring crafts and activities.

Need a special spring treat? These speckled chocolate quail eggs are to dye for.

And there's always this recipe for sugar Easter eggs that I did a couple years ago. It still gets very popular around this time each spring.

Any writers out there want a cruise? There's a fabulous Mother's Day contest going on at Mikarose where you can enter to win a Caribbean cruise by writing an essay about mother in your life. Top four winners get $100 gift certificates and the winner gets a cruise package. But even if you don't win the cruise package I'd suggest going to their site anyway, I love their dresses (my daughter has one).

It's beautiful, but I'm very much hoping that my scarf days are over for this year. (And, I don't knit. There's that too LOL.)

I don't knit, but I crochet. I can never find cute scarf patterns that are crochet.

I hope we are done with scarves for this year, if it would get warm enough for all this snow to melt!

This is lovely, and you can never have enough scarves. I am so jealous of the people saying their scarf wearing days for the year are over, it's -23C here today! Brrr

Love those springy egg cosies! Not a great knitter, so I think I would be a bit challenged by that scarf, but it looks lovely.

Wee question - does anyone in Alaska celebrate St Patrick's Day? Seems like most of the rest of the US does, but not sure if there is a big Irish contingent way over where you are.

Too bad the contest is for "continental US" only.

This would be lovely in a laceweight silk/wool blend I have for a spring accessory...hmmm, I gave up knitting due to carpal tunnel syndrome, but I still dream about it.:-)

I've tried ot knit...no avail!! I'd love to learn someday. :)

It's been beautiful weather here, but that might sooon change. I hope not, I'm enjoying the drastic change from the INSANE snow storms we have had this past winter!!

Hoping spring comes for you soon!

I love the mason jar soap dispenser idea. I just saw a mason jar soap dispenser for sale through AtHome America for $19!! So what a great DIY item!

I'm reading an ebook you wrote. In it you said that you always try to respond to the little guy...and I'm little. Only 5 feet. But I guess you didnt mean it like that.

anyway...I'm putting you to the test.

Really though, I actually had some questions for you but I've since slept. Which means I've forgotten them.

I like your blog. I'm adding it to my RSS, which I only learned about last night, from you!

Great job on the scarf! I love that deep garnet color (that's my birth stone). :)

P.S. Are you in India right now? I remember you saying something about the dates and I thought it was soon-ish (and I cant wait to hear all about it).
