Felt Easter Bunnies

Felt Easter BunniesThese little guys are so cute, cuddly and easy enough to produce that you could be swimming with rabbits. Swimming. They make a nice little craft for children who can handle a needle and thread or a hot glue gun.

1. Take a square piece of felt (around nine or ten inches wide)

Felt Bunnies2. Sew the corners together to form legs (see the photo at left) but leave it a little open in the middle and turn the whole thing right side out.

Felt Bunnies3. Take a little ball of batting and stuff it inside to make the head and tie around it with some embroidery floss. Now you should have a nice little ball for a head.

4. Stuff the bunny with batting and sew the whole thing closed.

Felt Bunnies5. Cut little ears out of felt like the ones you see at left here, fold them in half and aerodynamically hot glue them to the bunny's head.

6. Give him a pompom tail, a tiny pompom or triangle felt nose and some googly eyes. He's good to go!

So what are your good Easter or spring time ideas? I've got a few from past posts you might like:

I love the way you make the body...Anna's comfort toy is a stuffed bunny, so we're partial to them around here. Although, she'll want hers pink...silly girl. I'm dragging out one more week before I start on my Easter ideas.

Oh how cute!! I also love the alligator. I have had to make my fair share of odd shaped cakes over the years. The girls aren't as picky now...chocolate is just the recent theme.

Those look easy enough even for me. I think we will fill ours with beans for bunny bean bags.

Too cute! I think you could make other animals with this idea, too!

I was down with the Valentince's day mice made of construction paper... but this requires sewing skills! I think I'll just admire your talent.

Cute cute cute. I might make up a few for the Easter baskets. Right now needle and thread and hot glue gun (shudder) are beyond my 2.

On a completely different topic, how in the world do you read all the blogs you read? I only have 29 on my list and it takes me all morning. Granted I get interrupted a lot, but still.

So cute, but my kids with a glue gun . . . or a needle . . . hmmmmm. Maybe I'll file this away for when my kids are a little older.

Honestly, Michelle, this made me wistful for when my children were younger. It's an adorable idea and so easy to make.

Hmmmm, I DO have younger nieces and nephews...I bet they'd LOVE to get these bunnies in the mail!

these are soooo cute!! I wish I had seen this before the weekend when I could have picked up supplies. I'm not a craft store, though there are times I wish I was. Thanks for the good ideas!
